This American IPA is a concentrated exploration of the Citra hop, utilized in six different formats to achieve an extraordinary sensory depth. The experience begins with a pungent, dank aroma reminiscent of fresh cannabis, quickly followed by an explosion of bright, saturated citrus. Vivid notes of fresh-pressed orange juice and sweet tangerine dominate the palate, echoing a lively Buck’s Fizz cocktail. While the hop character is intensely fruity and resinous, a clean, supportive malt backbone ensures the beer remains balanced. It concludes with a crisp, refreshing bitterness, making this a definitive showcase of modern hop processing and varietal purity.
Appearance. Color is medium gold (7 SRM). The beer shows a slight, modern haze with a large, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intensity is high, dominated by pungent Citra hop character featuring heavy notes of tangerine, tropical fruit, and a distinct resinous dankness. A very low, clean bready malt scent supports the hops without adding sweetness. Fermentation is very clean.
Taste. Initial impression is an intense burst of citrus fruit, specifically orange juice and tangerine, followed by a resinous, herbal quality. Hop bitterness is medium-high and firm, balanced by a low, grainy malt sweetness. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering citrus and pithy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. There is a very subtle, integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its 6.5% ABV.
