This Double IPA showcases a vibrant interplay of modern hops, led by the tropical intensity of Citra and the vinous complexity of Nelson Sauvin. The sensory profile is dominated by a saturated wave of juicy mango and exotic lychee, balanced by the distinctive tartness of gooseberry. A subtle undercurrent of freshly cut grass provides a refreshing, resinous counterpoint to the fruit-forward character. While the 8% ABV lends a lean strength, the focus remains on the immense hop expression, supported by a clean, neutral malt backbone that allows the New World aromatics to remain at the forefront of the experience.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7–9 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Pours with a thick, persistent, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy tropical fruit notes of mango and lychee, alongside white wine-like gooseberry and a hint of crushed grapes. Subtle floral notes sit atop a background of clean, grainy maltiness and low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial punch of citrus and tropical fruit. Hop flavors of mango and gooseberry are prominent, followed by a crisp, freshly cut grass herbal note. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but smooth and well-integrated. Malt is supportive and neutral with very light bready notes. Finishes dry and clean with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. Restrained alcohol warmth is noticeable but smooth, without any harshness or hop-derived astringency.
