Hay is a luminous, session-strength American Pale Ale that highlights modern hop saturation through traditional cask conditioning. The sensory experience is defined by a vibrant interplay of Bru-1, Ella, and Eclipse hops. Bru-1 drives intense pineapple notes, while Ella and Eclipse provide the signature bright grapefruit and tangerine peel zest. On the palate, these citrus layers surge forward, supported by a subtle, bready malt backbone. Despite the hop intensity, it remains exceptionally drinkable, offering a clean profile with the soft, rounded mouthfeel of cask service. It concludes with a crisp bitterness and a lingering hint of citrus zest.
Appearance. Pale golden (6 SRM) with a slight, natural haze. Features a thick, creamy white head with excellent retention and lacing characteristic of cask-conditioned service.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by pineapple and stone fruit from Bru-1, complemented by the tangerine citrus of Eclipse and a spicy, floral lift from Ella. Low, neutral bready malt provides a supporting foundation.
Taste. Initial burst of bright grapefruit and tangerine peel. Hop flavors are saturated but clean, balanced by a light, grainy malt sweetness. Moderate bitterness provides structure without harshness. The finish is dry and crisp with lingering citrus oils.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, consistent with cask conditioning, enhancing the sessionable quality. No alcohol warmth is perceived.
