Beak Camino is a vibrant Double IPA collaboration with Garage Beer Co. that balances 8% ABV intensity with a lush, pillowy texture. Utilizing a grist of oats and wheat, the body is exceptionally soft, providing a velvety canvas for copious Luminosa hops. These hops drive a vivid sensory profile defined by juicy peach, ripe mango, and a distinct lemonade-like brightness. The addition of orange peel amplifies the citrus character, offering a concentrated note of candied orange peel that lingers on the palate. The result is a bright, modern hop expression that remains incredibly smooth despite its formidable strength.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, pale gold to light orange (7 SRM) with a thick, persistent white head that leaves dense, soapy lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of peach, mango, and zesty lemon. A supportive, grainy-sweet malt character from the wheat is present, alongside a distinct, spicy citrus note from the orange peel and light fruity fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and citrus lemonade. Strong hop flavors of mango and candied orange peel are supported by a soft, neutral, bready malt backbone. Bitterness is moderately high and firm but lacks any harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, oily hop resonance and light orange zest.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture derived from the oats and wheat. Carbonation is moderate. A light, clean alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
