This Hazy IPA from Beak showcases a vibrant hop profile featuring Enigma, Nelson Sauvin, and Citra. It pours with a characteristically thick, opaque glow, releasing an intense bouquet of tangerine zest and ripe raspberry. The addition of Nelson Sauvin introduces a sophisticated white wine nuance, while the Enigma hops lean into a unique red fruit complexity. Appearance. Hazy, opaque golden straw with a luminous shine. Topped by a dense, white, meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma bursting with tangerine and tropical citrus from the Citra. Prominent notes of ripe raspberry and red currants from Enigma, complemented by the gooseberry and white wine esters of Nelson Sauvin. A supportive, lightly bready malt backbone is enriched by floral accents of wild heather honey.
Taste. Initial impression is a wash of juicy tropical and stone fruits. Vivid flavors of tangerine and sweet raspberry dominate, followed by a subtle, honeyed floral depth. Hop bitterness is low to moderate and smoothly integrated, never harsh. Malt provides a soft, grainy foundation that leads into an off-dry, fruity finish with lingering notes of crushed grapes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and moderate carbonation. Smooth and creamy without being heavy; very light alcohol warmth is well-integrated.
