Beachwood Brewing Steely Jam
Steely Jam is a vibrant West Coast-style American IPA that showcases a masterful collaboration of Strata, Mosaic, and Mosaic Cryo hops. This beer leads with a striking intensity of dank passion fruit, bright berry, and resinous pine, characteristic of its modern hop profile. The use of Mosaic and Mosaic Cryo amplifies the tropical citrus and blueberry nuances, while Strata adds a signature herbal, strawberry-meets-cannabis depth. A clean, lean malt backbone provides just enough structure to support the aggressive, snapping bitterness, resulting in a crisp, dry finish. It is a precise and aromatic expression of California-bred brewing expertise.
Appearance. Pours a brilliant medium gold with a medium-sized, off-white head that exhibits excellent persistence and leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passion fruit, blueberry, and tropical mango alongside resinous pine and a hint of dankness. A very low, clean, grainy malt sweetness sits in the background, allowing the hop esters to dominate.
Taste. The flavor is decidedly hop-forward, delivering layers of tangerine, melon, and mixed berries. Bitterness is firm and assertive but clean, well-supported by a lean, neutral malt profile. The fermentation is clean, leading into a dry, crisp finish with a long-lingering resinous and citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively effervescence. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth that never becomes harsh.
