Baxbier Indulgence is a decadent American Stout that bridges the gap between traditional roastiness and modern pastry opulence. Jet black and viscous, it leads with an intense bouquet of dark chocolate and roasted peanuts, evoking a rich autumnal warmth. The palate is defined by deep layers of bittersweet chocolate and a savory, nutty depth from the inclusion of real peanuts, underpinned by the style's signature assertive hop bitterness and charred malt character. At 8% ABV, it offers a comforting, smooth alcohol presence that complements its luxurious, velvety texture, making it an ideal companion for cold winter nights.
Appearance. Jet black (40 SRM) and completely opaque. It supports a thick, persistent, light brown head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity roasted malt character featuring dark chocolate and espresso. This is layered with prominent, authentic peanut butter notes and a hint of sweet vanilla. Moderate resinous hop aroma and subtle fruity esters are present in the background.
Taste. The initial impression is a luxurious blend of bittersweet chocolate and creamy peanut butter. Mid-palate reveals high roasted grain flavors of charred coffee beans and toasted nuts. Bitterness is firm, but balanced by the pastry-like residual sweetness and adjunct richness. The finish is long and rich with a lingering cocoa and roasted peanut aftertaste.
