Baxbier Gateway serves as a lush introduction to the world of New England Double IPA, balancing a sturdy 8% ABV with remarkable drinkability. This hazy pour radiates with intense tropical fruit aromas, dominated by notes of ripe mango and pineapple. On the palate, the experience is defined by a juicy character and a notably soft mouthfeel that masks its significant strength. Unlike a traditional Double IPA, the bitterness is restrained to a mere hint, allowing the vibrant, fruit-forward hop profile to remain center stage. Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM); opaque and hazy. Features a dense, persistent, white creamy head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Prominent tropical fruit notes including mango, passion fruit, and crushed pineapple dominate. A supportive, clean, grainy maltiness is found in the background with a neutral fermentation profile and no solventy alcohol.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical juice. Strong hop flavors of stone fruit and citrus over a soft, unobtrusive grainy malt base. Bitterness is low to mild, providing just enough structure to balance the 8% ABV. Finishes medium-dry and smooth with a lingering, fruity aftertaste.
