This Double IPA delivers an explosive sensory profile driven by a complex hop blend of Falconers Flight, Citra, Mosaic Cryo, Galaxy, and Cryopop. Aromas of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus zest dominate the nose, supported by a subtle, bready malt backbone. The strategic addition of oats and wheat creates a remarkably silky, smooth texture that carries intense flavors of tropical stone fruit and resinous pine across the palate. While the 8.2% ABV provides a gentle, well-integrated warmth, the overall balance is steered by a soft yet persistent bitterness that cleanses the palate, emphasizing modern hop juice-like intensity.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM) with a persistent, moderate-sized off-white head. The clarity shows a slight haze, characteristic of the heavy oat and wheat protein content, with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of tropical fruit (passion fruit, pineapple), citrus (tangerine, grapefruit), and a hint of berry. A clean, neutral, grainy-sweet malt character resides in the background with a very light, clean alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of mango, lime zest, and resinous pine dominate from the first sip. The malt flavor is low but supportive, offering a soft, bready quality. Bitterness is moderately high but exceptionally smooth and lacking harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, pleasant hoppy aftertaste and no cloying sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and silky texture derived from the oats and wheat. Carbonation is moderate. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, providing a sophisticated backbone without being hot or solventy.
