Basqueland Zumo is a quintessential Hazy IPA designed to emulate the experience of a freshly squeezed tropical juice. The sensory profile is driven by a massive dry-hop addition of Mosaic, Citra, and El Dorado, which erupt in a vibrant display of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus zest. The appearance is characterized by a signature opaque glow and a persistent, creamy head. On the palate, the hop-derived fruitiness is supported by a soft, bready malt backbone and a plush, pillowy mouthfeel. Bitterness remains remarkably restrained and smooth, allowing the juicy hop oils and stone fruit esters to linger through a clean, off-dry finish.
Appearance.Straw to deep gold with a luminous, opaque haze. Topped by a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma.High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of mango, pineapple, and candied orange peel. Secondary notes of watermelon and stone fruit from the El Dorado hops are present, supported by a clean, bready malt background and light fruity fermentation esters.
Taste.Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit juice, specifically pineapple and peach. Low grainy-sweet malt flavor provides a soft foundation. Low to medium-low perceived bitterness that is very smooth and lacks any harshness. The finish is off-dry with a lingering fruity hop character.
Mouthfeel.Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no astringency or hop burn.
