Basqueland Topa is a vibrant Hazy IPA designed for summer refreshment, showcasing a unique hop profile of Triumph, Simcoe, and Zappa. The sensory experience is led by a distinctive burst of fresh strawberry and nostalgic bubblegum, characteristic of the Triumph and Zappa dry-hop additions. These playful notes are grounded by a subtle layer of resinous pine needles from the Simcoe hops. Despite its sessionable strength for the style, it maintains a soft, opaque presence. The overall profile is lively and fun, balancing high fruit intensity with a clean, refreshing finish that evokes a cool breeze on a warm afternoon.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4 SRM) with a characteristic opaque, luminous haze and a 'shine.' Features a thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of ripe strawberry and sweet bubblegum. A secondary layer of pine needles provides a fresh contrast. Low, clean, bready-grainy malt in the background with no caramel or toast; neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with strawberry and candy-like bubblegum. Low to moderate bitterness provides structure without being sharp or harsh. Malt is supportive and grainy. Finishes off-dry and clean with a lingering, soft fruitiness and no hop-derived astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture and no raw starch graininess. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth; no harshness or acidity.
