Basqueland Quick Hand
This modern take on a Saison leverages the rustic richness of Norwegian Kveik yeast to create a foundation of tropical fruit complexity. Collaborative ingenuity brings the mellow character of Huell Melon hops to the forefront, offering distinct notes of honeydew and ripe strawberry that mesh seamlessly with the yeast's citrusy esters. While maintaining the high attenuation and dry, crisp finish expected of the style, the beer displays a unique depth and balanced bitterness. It is a refreshing farmhouse ale that swaps traditional spicy phenols for a lush, fruit-forward profile and a soft, grainy malt backbone.
Appearance. Pale gold with a slight hazy luminescence; topped by a long-lasting, dense, rocky white head that leaves consistent Belgian lace on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity featuring a blend of tropical fruit and citrus esters from the fermentation. Distinctive notes of honeydew melon and strawberry dominate, backed by a light, grainy malt sweetness and a hint of rustic earthiness.
Taste. Initial impression is bright and fruit-forward, showcasing ripe melon and apricot. The mid-palate reveals a soft, grainy malt character, while the yeast provides a rich, tropical complexity. It finishes very dry with a moderate, clean hop bitterness and a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high, effervescent carbonation. There is a faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth and a crisp, refreshing quality without any harsh astringency.
