This decadent Imperial Stout offers a massive sensory journey, merging deep roasted malt character with the luxurious additions of roasted peanuts and fresh coconut. Aged in French oak barrels, the beer develops a sophisticated structure where wood-derived vanillins complement the savory-sweet nuttiness. The experience is dominated by intense layers of bittersweet chocolate and espresso, while the addition of roasted peanuts provides a rich, earthy depth. Subtle hints of toasted coconut weave through the dark fruit esters of prunes and figs, creating a harmonious profile. Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM) with a thick, creamy, deep tan head. High viscosity is evident in the slow-moving legs that coat the glass, likely enhanced by the oil content of the peanuts and coconut.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and intense roasted peanuts. Moderate toasted coconut notes emerge alongside light French oak vanilla. Firm bitterness provides balance against a moderately sweet malt backbone. The finish is long and bittersweet, featuring lingering notes of cocoa, roasted nuts, and a touch of tannic oak.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and viscous with a velvety, chewy texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present but never sharp, contributing to a luxurious, coating sensation.
