Basqueland Brewing

This Wild Specialty Beer offers a vibrant sensory journey, lead by a high-intensity fusion of stone fruit and tropical aromatics. The pour reveals a hazy, sun-drenched orange hue, releasing a pungent bouquet of ripe nectarine and the zesty, sharp tang of passion fruit. A clean lactic tartness from the wild fermentation sharpens the fruit profile, while a subtle earthy funk adds depth. On the palate, the fleshy sweetness of nectarine is immediately balanced by an assertive, mouth-watering acidity. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, leaving a lingering, hauntingly refreshing impression of passion fruit zest and bright acidity.

Appearance. Hazy, golden-orange with a pale amber tint; thin off-white head with low retention and minimal lacing, typical of high-acidity wild ales.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of fresh nectarine and aromatic, floral passion fruit; clean lactic sourness with light notes of cracker-like malt and a faint, funky wild yeast character.

Taste. Initial sharp tartness followed by juicy nectarine and tropical passion fruit flavors; the fruit esters are prominent while sweetness is minimal; low hop bitterness; clean, lactic acidity drives a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body; moderate-high carbonation providing a refreshing prickle; noticeable mouth-puckering acidity; very low astringency and well-hidden alcohol warmth.
