Basqueland Brewing

Dungeoness is a bright, summery American IPA that captures the classic West Coast spirit with a contemporary aromatic twist. The profile is dominated by sharp pine resin and earthy dankness from Columbus Cryo and Simcoe, layered with a unique coconut and tropical creaminess provided by Sabro. Palisade adds a subtle floral and herbal nuance. Despite a notable malt backbone that provides a grainy foundation, the beer remains lean and refreshing. The palate balances firm hop bitterness with bright citrus notes and a signature dry finish, making it a harmonious expression of modern hopping techniques within a traditional, bitter framework.

Appearance. Deep gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy pine resin and dank herbs. Distinctive notes of toasted coconut and tropical fruit emerge, supported by a background of citrus zest and light floral perfume. A clean, low grainy-sweet malt scent provides a steady base with no diacetyl.

Taste. Initial hop-forward flavors of grapefruit peel and resinous pine. The mid-palate reveals exotic coconut and subtle stone fruit character. Bitterness is firm and assertive but well-integrated, leading to a decidedly dry and clean finish. Low toasty malt flavors persist briefly in the aftertaste alongside a lingering hoppy bite.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a refreshing prickle on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is subtle and well-integrated.

Basqueland – Dungeoness. El proyecto Basqueland lo fundan 3 norteamericanos que desembarcaron en el País Vasco en tres oleadas. El primero en pisar tierras guipuzcoanas fue Kevin Patricio. Originario de Baltimore, después le siguió su amigo Benjamín Matz, maestro cervecero de una de las cunas del Craft Beer en EEUU , San Diego. El último de la tresena lo compone Benjamin Rozzi, se incorpora a instancias de Benjamín y Kevin para hacerse cargo de la parte comercial del proyecto. A partir de aquí los tres estrenaron fábrica propia en Hernani en el 2015.

Basqueland – Dungeoness es una cerveza ideada para los amantes de las West Coast IPA . Clásica IPA de 5.8% con perfil marcado de malta, final seco y buen amargor. Aromas pináceos, cítricos y algo de coco, gracias a los lúpulos Simcoe, Palisade, Sabro y Columbus Cryo.
