Basqueland Coco Loco is a decadent Imperial Stout that harmonizes deep roasted intensity with lush adjuncts. This 10% ABV powerhouse features a sophisticated blend of coffee from Old Town Coffee, delivering a sharp, authentic espresso-like aroma that intertwines with toasted coconut. The foundation is built on a complex grist of roasted malts, yielding layers of dark chocolate and singed grain. On the palate, the creamy coconut provides a smooth, tropical sweetness that softens the bold, bitter finish of the coffee. It is a full-bodied, velvety experience where the warmth of the alcohol is elegantly integrated into a lingering, bittersweet finale.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a dense, persistent dark tan head that leaves significant lacing. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant freshly roasted coffee notes from Old Town Coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The coconut provides a secondary sweet, nutty, and tropical layer. Very low hop presence; esters are subtle, suggesting faint notes of black cherry or dried plum behind the dominant roast.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and syrupy, immediately followed by intense flavors of dark chocolate and toasted grain. The coffee contribution is profound, leading to a complex, charred bitterness in the mid-palate. Toasted coconut provides a counterpoint of creamy sweetness, rounding out the aggressive roast. The finish is long and bittersweet, dominated by roasted coffee bean and a clean alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the beer’s weight. A smooth, gentle warmth is present throughout, consistent with its 10% strength.
