Basqueland’s Skeleton Bay is a vibrant American IPA that strikes a balance between coastal brightness and forest-like depth. A trio of Loral, Cashmere, and Idaho 7 hops defines the profile, leading with punchy grapefruit peel and sharp lime pith. The aromatic experience is deepened by a persistent layer of pine resin and a subtle herbal undertone, evoking a rugged landscape. On the palate, the hop-forward bitterness is supported by a clean, grainy malt backbone, finishing dry and crisp. This moderately strong ale showcases a modern hop profile while maintaining the classic, assertive bitterness and resinous clarity expected of the style.

Appearance. Deep gold to light copper with brilliant clarity. Supports a medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.

Aroma. High hop intensity featuring sharp citrus notes of grapefruit and lime pith. Idaho 7 contributes a prominent resinous pine character, while Loral and Cashmere provide floral and subtle herbal nuances. Low, clean, bready malt sweetness sits in the background.

Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of citrus zest and resin. Medium-high bitterness is clean and assertive. Malt flavors are low and grainy with a hint of toasted cracker. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering bitterness and clean fermentation profile.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop resins. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
