Basqueland Brewing Genesis is a vibrant Hazy IPA that exemplifies the modern juicy profile through a specialized hop selection. Utilizing a focused dry-hop of Palisade and Cashmere hops, it delivers a complex aromatic profile where notes of ripe cantaloupe melon and tropical pineapple take center stage. These primary fruity layers are complemented by a delicate floral character and a subtle hint of fresh-cut grass, adding a layer of botanical freshness to the bouquet. The experience is anchored by a characteristic soft body and a smooth, refreshing palate that balances low perceived bitterness with a clean, grainy malt backbone, providing a remarkably drinkable and lush sensory journey.
Appearance. Pours a pale golden color (approx. 4-6 SRM) with a deep, uniform haze that creates a characteristic shine. It is topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics led by tropical and stone fruit. Palisade hops contribute distinct floral notes and a subtle herbal freshness, while Cashmere hops drive bold scents of ripe melon and sweet pineapple. A low, clean, bready malt presence sits in the background without any toast or caramel character.
Taste. The initial impression is a wave of tropical fruit, echoing the aroma's melon and pineapple. Hop bitterness is moderate but perceived as low-to-medium, perfectly integrated into the soft, pillowy texture. Low grainy-sweet malt flavor supports the hop-forward profile, finishing with a gentle, fruity aftertaste that is clean and devoid of any lingering harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a noticeably soft, silky mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth, refreshing texture. At 5.8% ABV, there is virtually no alcohol warmth, maintaining high drinkability without any astringency or raw starchiness.
