This quintessential American Pale Ale captures the bright, balanced spirit of a California classic. A vibrant blonde hue precedes a sophisticated bouquet of citrus and tropical fruits, driven by a strategic dry-hopping of Bravo, Centennial, and Mosaic. The Bravo hops provide a firm, spicy foundation, while Centennial offers signature floral-citrus notes, and Mosaic adds layers of complex berry and stone fruit. On the palate, a clean, grainy malt backbone supports a moderate bitterness that never overwhelms. The finish is crisp and refreshing, leaving a lingering, aromatic trail of citrus zest and pine, epitomizing the drinkability of the style.
Appearance. Pale golden to deep blonde (approx. 6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a persistent, moderately large white head that shows good retention and leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderately high hop aroma featuring distinct grapefruit and lemon citrus from Centennial, complemented by the tropical fruit and berry nuances of Mosaic. A subtle spicy and herbal undertone from Bravo hops is present, supported by a low, neutral bready malt character and very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. The initial impression is hop-forward yet balanced. Bright flavors of citrus peel and tropical fruit dominate the palate, transitioning into a moderate bitterness. The malt provides a clean, lightly grainy base without heavy caramel notes. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering hop resin and citrus aftertaste that remains smooth and never harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing, crisp mouthfeel. There is no detectable alcohol warmth or astringency, contributing to high drinkability.
