Despite its sessionable strength, this American Stout maintains a satisfyingly full-bodied presence, leaving a clean, lingering trail of earthy spice and toasted bread. It is a traditional yet expressive dark ale that captures the essence of a heritage roast profile with a well-integrated hop character.
Appearance. Jet black in color (SRM 35) with a thick, persistent tan head that displays excellent lacing; the beer is entirely opaque.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring prominent roasted coffee and dark chocolate. The inclusion of English hops provides a distinctive spicy and dark berry character, complemented by low fruity esters and a faint earthy undertone.
Taste. Initial flavors of roasted coffee beans and bittersweet chocolate dominate. Malt sweetness is kept at a medium-low level, yielding to a firm bitterness.
