This English Barley Wine presents a masterful evolution of the style, marrying the bready depth of a strong British ale with the sophisticated influence of a twelve-month rest in chestnut barrels. The addition of honey enhances the rich, toffee-like malt backbone, while the unique barrel treatment—formerly housing Penedes wine and cured with rum—introduces a vinous complexity and subtle spirit-forward depth. Refermentation with bayanus yeast ensures a refined finish that balances the decadent layers of dried fruit and caramel. Topped with a splash of fresh ale, it maintains a vibrant character amidst its deep, matured, and velvety profile.

Appearance. Deep copper to mahogany (18-22 SRM) with ruby highlights; low off-white head with minimal retention; brilliant clarity and visible viscosity (legs) on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity; rich caramel and dark honey malt notes are dominant, complemented by dried fruit esters of raisin and fig; distinct vinous, wine-like character from barrel aging with subtle hints of rum and toasted chestnut wood; low earthy hop presence.
