Work Horse is a massive Double IPA that pushes the style's limits, delivering an intense sensory experience born from Baron Brewing’s collaboration with Abyss. This 11% powerhouse radiates with a saturated New World hop profile, bursting with aggressive notes of resinous pine, tropical mango, and bright citrus zest. Despite its significant strength, the palate remains remarkably focused on hop saturation rather than cloying sweetness. A lean, grainy malt backbone provides just enough support to balance the firm bitterness, leading into a clean, warming finish. It is a bold, uncompromising beer designed for slow sipping and deep appreciation of hop complexity.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange-copper with a slight hop haze. Features a moderate, persistent off-white head that leaves sticky lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop bouquet dominated by grapefruit peel, crushed pine needles, and ripe passionfruit. Low, neutral grainy malt sweetness provides a clean background, accompanied by a subtle, well-integrated alcohol note.

Taste. Initial punch of citrus and tropical fruit flavors, followed by a moderately high, resinous bitterness that is firm but not harsh. The malt character is soft and unobtrusive, allowing a dry, lingering hoppy finish to prevail. Light fruity esters complement the hop-forward profile.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high, and a noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth is present without becoming solventy or sharp.
