Thirsty Boy 2 is a vibrant American Pale Ale designed as a showcase for Mosaic hops. This collaborative effort with Thirsty in Cambridge delivers a high-intensity sensory experience despite its sessionable 4.5% ABV. The Mosaic variety drives a complex profile of ripe blueberries, tropical mango, and a subtle resinous pine undertone. A lean, neutral malt base provides just enough structure to allow the bold hop character to dominate without cloying sweetness. The result is a bright, hop-forward beer that balances modern tropical fruit expressions with a crisp, clean finish, making it an exceptionally drinkable and aromatic modern pale ale.
Appearance.Pale gold (6 SRM) with a moderately large, frothy white head that exhibits good retention and light lacing. Generally clear with a brilliant shimmer.
Aroma.High hop intensity featuring prominent notes of blueberry, mango, and papaya from the Mosaic addition, supported by a light resinous pine. Low grainy-sweet maltiness and a clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste.Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and berry. Mid-palate reveals hop flavors of blueberry and tangerine. Moderate hop bitterness is well-integrated against a light, bready malt backdrop. Finishes dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant citrus and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel.Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation. Smooth and crisp on the palate with no alcohol warmth and zero astringency, enhancing its high drinkability.
