Thin Ice is a modern American Pale Ale that masterfully balances a sessionable 4.2% ABV with a surprisingly lush, creamy texture. The addition of oats creates a soft, rounded mouthfeel that carries the vibrant profile of the New Zealand Motueka hops. These hops dominate the senses with a punchy hit of fresh lime zest, lemon peel, and crushed mojito mint, supported by a subtle, grainy malt backdrop. It is a refreshing yet substantial ale where the bright citrus notes of Motueka dance over a hazy, pale golden body, finishing with a clean, moderate bitterness that invites another sip.

Appearance. Pale golden (5-6 SRM). Large, persistent white head with fine lacing. Noticeable haze from the significant oat addition.

Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity characterized by distinctive Motueka notes of fresh lime, lemon curd, and a hint of tropical background fruit. Low neutral grainy maltiness with a soft, bready undertone from the oats. Clean fermentation with very low esters.

Taste. Immediate lime and citrus zest hop flavor. Moderate bitterness provides structure without being harsh. The malt flavor is lean and grainy but provides a smooth, bready platform. Finishes medium-dry with lingering citrus peel and a crisp, clean aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, enhanced by the oats to feel more substantial than the ABV suggests. Moderate carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth. Smooth, creamy texture with no detectable astringency.
