Baron Brewing

Board Shorts is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures the essence of a sun-drenched summer. This bold collaboration leads with an explosive aromatic profile driven by ultra-fresh Strata, delivering layers of tropical passion fruit and sweet strawberry. Motueka adds a bright, zesty lime lift, while Simcoe provides a grounding touch of grapefruit and resinous pine. On the palate, a soft, pillowy texture supports waves of stone fruit and citrus, balanced by a restrained bitterness that keeps the focus on the juicy hop expression. It finishes smooth and refreshing, perfectly embodying a modern, fruit-forward profile with a sophisticated depth of hop character.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (SRM 5-6). Opaque and hazy with a characteristic luminous shine. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and persistent lacing.

Aroma. High-intensity aromatics featuring pungent passion fruit, strawberry, and lime zest from the Strata and Motueka hops. Background notes of grapefruit and light pine resin from Simcoe. Malt is low, presenting as clean, bready, and neutral.

Taste. A high-impact fruit forwardness dominated by mango, melon, and citrus. Malt flavor is low and lightly bready, providing a soft foundation. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft body. The finish is off-dry and clean, with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. No harshness or astringency is present, with just a hint of light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
