This commanding Imperial Stout, born from the Dimensions of Time Barrel Project, presents a vortex of sensory depth. At a potent 14.8% ABV, the beer exudes a massive profile of bittersweet chocolate and espresso-like roast, seamlessly integrated with the charred oak and vanilla nuances of its extended barrel maturation. A complex tapestry of dark fruit—specifically figs and black currants—emerges amidst the viscous, motor-oil pour. The intense malt backbone provides a luxurious, velvety platform for the significant alcohol warmth and firm bitterness to meld, resulting in a sophisticated, harmonious sipper that balances decadence with structured barrel tannins.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque; pours with high viscosity and visible legs. Topped with a dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention and leaves oily lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and black licorice. Potent barrel-aged notes of vanilla, toasted oak, and a hint of bourbon are prominent. Esters suggest dried plums and raisins, complemented by a smooth, vinous alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is deeply malty and sweet, quickly followed by intense flavors of dark chocolate, molasses, and burnt grain. The barrel influence provides complex layers of wood tannin and caramel. High bitterness from both hops and roasted malts balances the residual sugars. The finish is long and warming with a lingering espresso and dark fruit aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally viscous with a chewy, velvety texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the creamy mouthfeel. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth provides a pleasant chest-filling sensation without being sharp or fusel.
