It presents an opulent sensory profile dominated by the addition of Brazilian coffee, which imparts deep earthy and roasted notes. The integration of vanilla provides a creamy sweetness that buffers the intense roast, while hazelnut adds a distinct, praline-like richness. Expect a complex interplay of dark chocolate, toasted malt, and dark fruit esters like raisins. Appearance. Opaque, jet black (40+ SRM). A thin, dark tan head with moderate persistence; visible legs due to high alcohol and viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant roasted coffee and dark chocolate malt character, layered with rich hazelnut and sweet vanilla. Nuanced dark fruit esters of prune and black currant. Low hop aroma. Clean fermentation with a smooth, warming alcohol presence.

CONVERGENCE is an Imperial Stout brewed in collaboration with Spartacus Brewing from Brazil. For this stout we truly converged our recipes which gave us a great foundation to add adjuncts. We decided that adding Brazilian coffee would be our primary adjunct to bring a taste of Brazil to the beer. But from there we thought, "why not go big?" and so we added vanilla and hazelnut to go with it. Barclay Brewing isn't known for adding adjuncts so this is a treat. We hope you enjoy it!
