BAPBAP Bastille, La Nuit
This American IPA presents a vibrant sensory journey, defined by a Double Dry Hopped intensity that celebrates a sophisticated modern hop profile. The strategic use of Simcoe and Talus creates a layered bouquet where powerful notes of tropical mango and exotic lychee collide with a sharp citrus edge. A clean, supporting malt backbone allows these hop characters to lead, while the finish is marked by a beautiful, firm bitterness. It is a bold, aromatic tribute to the spirit of Paris, balancing resinous depth with bright, sun-ripened fruit flavors for a crisp and refreshing experience.
Appearance. Medium gold in color (approximately 8 SRM) with a slight haze resulting from the intensive dry-hopping process. It is topped by a persistent, medium-sized white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of mango and lychee driven by the Talus hops, paired with the resinous pine and grapefruit zest of Simcoe. The malt presence is low and clean, providing a faint grainy backdrop without distracting from the hops.
Taste. The palate follows the aroma with high hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus. Talus provides distinct litchi and stone fruit qualities, while Simcoe adds a layer of pine and earthy citrus. Bitterness is firm and clean, balanced by a low grainy malt sweetness. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crispness that enhances the hop bite. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its 6.3% strength.
