Something Rangey is a powerful Double IPA that balances high-impact hop saturation with a velvety, modern texture. This collaboration utilizes Nelson Sauvin, Cashmere, and Citra to create a complex aromatic profile defined by crushed white grape, zesty citrus, and soft tropical melon. Its appearance is characteristically hazy, reflecting a full-bodied approach that favors a lush, creamy delivery over sharp, aggressive bitterness. On the palate, the juicy fruit layers are supported by a clean, neutral malt base, leading to a smooth, warming finish that belies its 8% strength. It remains a dangerously drinkable and contemporary expression of the style.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (7 SRM). Featuring a thick, persistent white head with dense lacing and a characteristic hazy, opaque clarity.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Nelson Sauvin's white grape and gooseberry notes, supported by Citra's grapefruit and tropical mango. Cashmere adds subtle melon and lemon zest. Low, neutral grainy malt in the background with light fruity fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression of intense tropical fruit and citrus. Prominent hop flavors of white wine, lime, and passionfruit. Bitterness is firm but exceptionally smooth, avoiding any harsh resinous bite. Low, supportive bready malt character. The finish is medium-dry and lush, featuring lingering juicy fruit and clean alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Features a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and zero hop-derived astringency.
