Seagull Enthusiasts is a vibrant West Coast-style American IPA that showcases a classic yet modern hop trio. The aromatic profile is dominated by the dank, resinous punch of Columbus, layered with the bright grapefruit and lime of Citra. Ekuanot adds complex nuances of tropical fruit and a hint of herbal spice. A lean, pale malt base provides a clean canvas, ensuring the high bitterness is assertive but crisp. This collaboration pours brilliantly clear with a resilient white head, leading to a dry, lingering finish that emphasizes piney bitterness and zesty citrus peel, embodying the refreshing, hop-forward intensity of the style.
Appearance. Medium gold (7 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Medium-sized white head with excellent persistence and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Prominent resinous and pungent pine notes from Columbus, followed by grapefruit, lime, and tropical papaya character from Citra and Ekuanot. Low, clean, crackery malt support. Very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Leading with a medium-high hop bitterness, the flavor profile delivers intense notes of citrus zest, pine resin, and tropical melon. Low grainy malt sweetness provides a brief mid-palate balance before being overtaken by hops. Finishes very dry and clean with a lingering, crisp bitterness and a resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Medium-high carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no astringency.
