This Double IPA delivers a saturated sensory experience, layered with a dense, silky foundation of oats and lactose. The aromatic profile is a high-intensity collision of tropical fruit and citrus, driven by heavy additions of El Dorado and Citra, alongside the subtle coconut-tinged complexity of Sabro. On the palate, it behaves like an amplified dessert-style ale—creamy and incredibly smooth despite its 10% ABV. Bright waves of pineapple, mango, and zesty orange peel from the Citra Cryo and El Dorado Cryo dominate the flavor, finishing with a lingering, punchy hop bitterness that balances the residual creaminess and hefty malt backbone.
Appearance. Gold to deep orange (8–12 SRM). Features a persistent, dense, off-white foam head with significant lacing. Clarity is hazy to opaque due to the heavy use of protein-rich oats.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of tropical pineapple, mango, and stone fruit from El Dorado, accompanied by sharp grapefruit and lime zest from Citra. A faint, sweet cream and tropical fruit undertone arises from the Sabro and lactose, backed by a clean, doughy malt presence.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical punch and sweet citrus. Malt flavor is supportive and doughy, enriched by a notable lactose sweetness. Hop flavors of passionfruit, orange, and melon are prominent throughout. Bitterness is firm and assertive, though softened by the velvety texture. The finish is long and fruity with a well-integrated alcohol presence that avoids being solventy.
Mouthfeel. Full, viscous body with a luxurious, creamy texture from the oats and lactose. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth provides a comforting glow without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
