DAUBLE SLICE is a quintessential Double IPA that leans heavily into the assertive West Coast tradition. Krush and Citra hops lead the charge, delivering an intense aromatic profile of bright citrus zest, fresh pine needles, and punchy tropical fruit. On the palate, the hop intensity is matched by a clean, firm bitterness that defines the style's structure. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer maintains high drinkability through a lean malt backbone and a hallmark dry finish. It is a bold, tight, and balanced exploration of modern lupulin expression, stripping away excess sweetness to let the hop-forward character shine with clarity and resonance.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light copper (8-10 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Supports a moderate-sized, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of citrus peel, resinous pine, and tropical mango. A clean, neutral, grainy malt presence sits in the background. Fermentation is clean with a very light ester profile and a subtle, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of grapefruit, pine resin, and juicy tropical fruit dominate the initial impression. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but lacks harshness. The malt character is low and unobtrusive, providing a clean, soft canvas. Finishes very dry with a long, lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture. Carbonation is medium-high. Provides a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth consistent with its strength without any hop-derived astringency.
