Ballykilcavan Robinson’s Revenge
This refreshing Weissbier presents a vibrant twist on tradition by incorporating fresh raspberries into the classic German wheat profile. The sensory experience opens with a striking hazy pinkish-gold appearance topped by a persistent, moussy head. The aroma is a harmonious blend of authentic raspberry fruitiness and the classic weizen yeast signatures of ripe banana and spicy clove. On the palate, the soft, bready wheat and grainy Pilsner malt flavors provide a sturdy foundation for the bright berry tartness. With high carbonation and a medium-light body, the beer delivers a fluffy, effervescent mouthfeel and a crisp, dry finish that emphasizes its refreshing character.
Appearance. Hazy pink-tinted gold (SRM 6-9) with a very thick, moussy, long-lasting pinkish-white head and significant yeast haze.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring ripe raspberry fruitiness perfectly integrated with traditional weizen yeast esters of banana and phenolic clove. A light bready, doughy wheat malt character provides the base, with no detectable hop aroma.
Taste. Initial notes of bready wheat and grainy sweetness are quickly met by a refreshing tart raspberry flavor. Low bitterness allows the spicy clove and banana fermentation character to shine without competition. The finish is relatively dry and crisp, with a lingering light berry tartness and soft wheat graininess.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a fluffy, creamy fullness that progresses to a spritzy, effervescent sensation on the tongue due to high carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth and no astringency.
