This English Porter presents a deep, dark zaino hue, signaling a rich sensory experience defined by its complex malt bill. The aromatic profile is led by intense roasted notes of coffee, licorice, and cocoa, complemented by an underlying nuttiness. While staying true to its heritage, the inclusion of figs during the boil imparts a unique, slightly sweet finish that balances the pleasant roasted bitterness. The palate is remarkably silky and full-bodied, delivering a cohesive blend of torrefied malt character and dark fruit depth. It is a robust, velvety interpretation of the classic London style that emphasizes a luxurious, dessert-like smoothness.

Appearance. Deep dark brown to nearly black (30 SRM) with subtle ruby highlights. Crowned by a creamy, beige head with excellent persistence and fine-beaded lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Prominent roasted malt character featuring notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and black licorice. A secondary layer of toasted nuts and bready malt is present, accompanied by low earthy hop notes and moderate dark fruit esters from the fig addition.

Taste. Initial flavors of roasted coffee and bitter cocoa dominate the palate. The mid-palate offers complex toasted bread and hazelnut notes. Bitterness is moderate and pleasant, providing balance without being harsh. The finish is long and silky, featuring a gentle sweetness from the figs that softens the roasted edges.
