This formidable Double IPA showcases the intensity of West Coast brewing with an aggressive triple-hop regimen. A bright gold pour leads into an explosive aromatic profile of resinous pine, zesty grapefruit, and tropical fruit, characteristic of high-dosage American hops. Despite its 10% ABV, the beer remains remarkably drinkable, supported by a clean, neutral malt base that allows the sharp, citrus-forward bitterness to dominate. The finish is assertive and dry, leaving a lingering trail of floral and resinous notes. It balances sheer hop power with a refined clarity and a smooth, warming sensation that defines the style's strength and balance.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma dominated by citrus zest, resinous pine, and hints of tropical stone fruit. Background notes of grainy, neutral malt provide subtle support without sweetness. Fermentation is clean with a very light fruity ester presence and a hint of smooth alcohol.
