Balate

Balate Ter presents as a sophisticated Witbier, blending traditional Belgian elements with distinct sensory nuances. A soft, bready foundation of wheat and lightly toasted barley malts provides a smooth canvas for the expressive fermentation character. Prominent aromas of sweet banana and a subtle hint of clove mingle with the delicate, herbal nuances of Tettnanger hops. Appearance. Very pale straw to deep yellow (2–4 SRM). The beer is very cloudy with a milky, whitish-yellow shine. It features a dense, white, moussy head with good retention.

Aroma. Moderate intensity with a bready maltiness and light honey-like notes. Distinctive fruity esters of banana are present alongside zesty orange-citrus. Herbal hop character from Tettnanger is low but recognizable, complemented by a spicy, clove-like phenol background.

Taste. Initial bready and grainy malt flavor with a hint of toasted sweetness. Moderate orange-citrus fruitiness and a subtle spicy phenol character. Low to medium-low herbal hop flavor supports the yeast profile. Bitterness is present and firm enough to balance the malt without being harsh. Finishes refreshingly crisp and dry.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, silky texture. High carbonation provides a strong effervescence. No alcohol warmth or astringency is perceived.

En la copa laBalate Terse presenta con un color dorado apagado, ligeramente turbia y blanquecina --o pálida y nublada si preferís-- fruto de la mezcla de maltas de trigo y cebada. La espuma es abundante, esponjosa y bastante duradera.
En nariz se reconoce fácilmente elolor a plátano, que predomina, pero no es complicado notar tampoco algunos matices herbáceos del lúpulo. En la boca disfrutamos de su textura ligera y sedosa y de la combinación de ese aroma a plátano que percibimos en la nariz y del delicado amargor que notamos en el paladar.
Aunque sola está también muy buena, esperfecta para maridar con postres suaves y con frutas: cremas pasteleras, postres con lácteos o, por qué no, unas fresas con nata.
