Bailandera Fruta Bruta is a vibrant Fruit Pale Ale that captures a “tropicalismo serrano” spirit through a harmonious blend of organic fruit. The sensory profile is defined by an immediate burst of succulent mango and the tangy, aromatic intensity of passion fruit, which provide a lush tropical depth. This sweetness is expertly countered by the addition of organic grapefruit peel, contributing a sharp, citrusy zest and a hint of pithy complexity. At 4.7% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable, balancing a light, bready malt backbone with the natural tartness of the fruit, resulting in a crisp, sunshine-forward experience that remains grounded in its Pale Ale roots.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (SRM 5–8). Displays a slight haze from the organic fruit additions. Pours with a moderate, off-white head that shows fair retention and leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High aromatic intensity dominated by fresh passion fruit and sweet mango. Secondary notes of grapefruit zest provide a citrusy lift. The base Pale Ale character offers a subtle support of bready, crackery malt and low floral hop notes.
Taste. An initial tropical wave of mango and passion fruit leads the palate, followed by the refreshing, slightly bitter tang of grapefruit peel. The malt flavor is supportive and clean, reminiscent of fresh bread. Bitterness is moderate and well-integrated, balancing the fruit’s acidity. The finish is dry and crisp, with lingering notes of tropical fruit skins and citrus zest.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a refreshing, crisp texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, enhancing the beer’s bright fruit character. No alcohol warmth is perceived, and there is a very low, pleasant fruit-derived astringency in the finish.
