This American IPA exemplifies the vibrant West Coast tradition, showcasing a masterfully blended trio of hops. The sensory experience is led by the bright, grapefruit and lime zest notes of Citra, which meld seamlessly into the tropical layers of mango and berry provided by Mosaic. Strata adds a complex dimension of passionfruit and a distinctive, resinous herbal quality. This intense hop profile is supported by a clean, lean malt foundation that allows the aromatics to remain center stage. It finishes crisp and decidedly bitter, inviting another sip while leaving a lingering trail of citrus resin and tropical fruit on the palate.
Appearance. Brilliant, clear deep gold (8 SRM) with a persistent, frothy white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring layers of pink grapefruit, passionfruit, and blueberries. Citra and Mosaic provide a bright tropical and citrus punch, while Strata adds a subtle, dank herbal undertone. Low, clean, bready malt presence with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impact of tangerine, mango, and pine. The bitterness is firm and clean, balanced by a very low crackery malt sweetness. Hop flavors from Citra and Strata dominate the mid-palate with citrus and tropical fruit. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering resinous bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
