From Riga With Hops is a saturated collaboration between Badlands and Ārpus, showcasing a vibrant Southern Hemisphere profile. This American IPA utilizes an equal blend of Riwaka and Nelson hops to deliver a complex sensory experience. The aroma is dominated by intense notes of tropical gooseberry and a distinct dank red berry character, underpinned by the exotic citrus of kumquat. On the palate, the vinous qualities of Nelson meld with Riwaka’s punchy, dank fruitiness against a lean, grainy malt backdrop. It finishes with a crisp, firm bitterness and a lingering trail of white grape and citrus zest, perfectly balancing its 6.5% ABV.
Appearance. Medium gold (approx 7 SRM). Slight haze is present with a medium-sized white head showing good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical gooseberry, dank red berry, and kumquat citrus. Low grainy maltiness supports the fruit-forward profile. Clean fermentation with no significant esters.
Taste. Medium-high hop flavor mirrors the aroma with kumquat, vinous white grape, and tropical berries. Low grainy-sweet malt provides a neutral base. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, leading to a dry, clean finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present without any harshness or astringency.
