A quintessential American IPA crafted as a collaboration between Bådin and Ophiussa Brewing Co., this West Coast style ale prioritizes hop intensity and clarity. At 6.5% ABV, it delivers a punchy sensory experience defined by bright citrus peel and deep resinous pine. The aromatic profile is high-impact, leading with grapefruit and subtle floral notes that translate into an assertive, clean bitterness on the palate. A lean, supporting malt character ensures the hops remain the focus, culminating in a crisp, dry finish with a lingering resinous aftertaste that invites another sip, perfectly capturing the classic West Coast profile.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber in color with brilliant clarity. Features a medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High aromatic intensity featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit, and floral hops. A low, clean, crackery maltiness provides a subtle foundation, while the fermentation profile remains neutral with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is sharply bitter and hop-forward. Flavors of pithy citrus and dank resin dominate, supported by a low, grainy, slightly toasty malt backbone. The bitterness is firm and medium-high, leading to a dry, clean finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp mouth-scrubbing effect. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present in the finish.
