This celebratory Triple Dry Hopped Modern West Coast Double IPA is a collaboration between Bad Seed and Radiant, delivering an intense sensory experience. A powerhouse of Simcoe and Citra Dynaboost provides a robust resinous base, while layers of Nelson and Mosaic contribute a signature dankness infused with mixed berries and tropical fruit. The addition of Citra Hyperboost and Taiheke brightens the profile with vibrant bursts of zesty lime, grapefruit, and fresh pineapple. Beneath the assertive hop saturation lies a clean, neutral malt backbone and a dry, crisp finish, ensuring the complex hop character remains the undisputed star of this potent 8.5% brew.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper (SRM 6-8). Clear with a faint, ephemeral haze from triple dry-hopping. Moderate, persistent white head with fine-textured lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma dominated by dank resin and tropical pineapple. High notes of passionfruit and gooseberry merge with blueberries. Supportive citrus notes of zesty lime and grapefruit are present. Malt is neutral and low, providing a clean, grainy backdrop.
Taste. Bold initial impression of citrus peel and dank pine. Pronounced hop flavors of pineapple and tropical fruit, followed by a mid-palate of mixed berries. Firm, high bitterness that is clean and lacks harshness. Malt is unobtrusive and slightly crackery. Finishes very dry and crisp with a long, lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, oily hop texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the fullness without being solventy.
