Tile Cutter is a vibrant Mid-West American Pale Ale that highlights the aromatic complexity of Mosaic hops, utilizing both T90 pellets and Mosaic Cryo. It presents a refreshing sensory profile led by signature notes of blueberry, ripe mango, and citrus, anchored by a clean, bready malt foundation. The interplay between the concentrated Cryo hops and traditional pellets creates a multi-layered experience of tropical fruit and subtle resinous pine. With a crisp, dry finish and a firm bitterness, this beer balances hop-forward intensity with high drinkability, remaining true to the classic American Pale Ale spirit while showcasing modern hop technology.
Appearance. Pours a brilliant pale gold to light amber with a moderately large, creamy white head that exhibits excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent blueberry, tropical papaya, and citrus zest from the Mosaic hops. A subtle underlying pine resin is present, supported by a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character and neutral fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial flavors of tropical stone fruit and berry lead into a neutral cracker-like malt backbone. The bitterness is firm but smooth, balancing the hop-forward profile. Mosaic hop flavors of citrus and pine linger in a medium-dry, clean finish without any perceived harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-rounded texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, commensurate with its 6.3% strength.
