Sea Change presents as a modern, vibrant American IPA that leans into the tropical intensity of its Southern Hemisphere and Pacific Northwest hop bill. Bright Motueka and Citra drive a citrus-forward core of lime and grapefruit, while Strata and Nelson Sauvin contribute complex layers of passionfruit, ripe melon, and a hint of dank resin. Despite its sessionable 5% ABV, it maintains the punchy character of the style, offering a soft, hazy profile that cushions the bitterness. This pale gold ale balances pungent hop oils against a lean, grainy malt base, finishing clean and incredibly refreshing with a lingering tropical fruit finish.
Appearance. Pale gold (approx. 4-6 SRM). Hazy clarity with a medium-sized, white head displaying good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of lime, passionfruit, and mango from Motueka and Strata. Low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the fruit-forward hop presentation. Clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma with lime zest, tropical berries, and melon. Low, clean, crackery malt flavor. Medium-high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Finishes dry to medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste of grapefruit and resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture. Medium-high carbonation. No astringency or harshness, with negligible alcohol warmth.
