Bad Seed Brewing Mo' Fuzz
Mo' Fuzz presents as a quintessential Hazy IPA, defined by its sophisticated layering of southern hemisphere aromatics. The heavy dry-hopping of Motueka and Riwaka delivers a vibrant surge of crushed lime and pungent passionfruit, bolstered by the concentrated tropical depth of Kohia Motueka Sub-Zero Hop Kief. Subtle berry and floral notes from Mosaic provide a grounding complexity against the YCH303-driven thiol intensity. On the palate, a soft, bready malt foundation supports a lush, juice-like profile that finishes with a gentle, restrained bitterness. It is a silky, modern expression of New Zealand terroir within a smooth, hazy framework.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous, glowing quality. Crowned by a dense, persistent, meringue-like white head that leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with an explosion of zesty lime, passionfruit, and ripe mango. Background notes of sweet berries and light resin are present. Malt is clean and bready, providing a neutral stage for the potent, thiol-rich hop oils and tropical esters.
Taste. Forward flavors of tropical punch, citrus zest, and guava. The hop character is lush and multi-dimensional without being grassy or herbal. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft, grainy malt sweetness. Finishes smooth and off-dry with lingering lime and stone fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. Entirely free of hop astringency or raw starch harshness.
