Herkulade reinterprets the classic German Pils through a vibrant West Coast lens, balancing tradition with modern hop intensity. The base features the crisp, grainy sweetness of pilsner malt, but the sensory stage is dominated by an aromatic explosion. Saaz provides a classic grassy foundation, while Mosaic, Simcoe, and Strata introduce a layered bouquet of tropical fruit, bright strawberry, and zesty grapefruit. The experience is exceptionally clean and refreshing, offering a firm but refined bitterness that cuts through the lemony citrus notes. This is a brilliant, bone-dry lager that marries European precision with bold, fruit-forward hop character.

Appearance. Pale straw to deep yellow (SRM 2–4). Brilliant clarity with a tall, creamy white head that exhibits excellent retention and fine lacing.

Aroma. High hop intensity featuring a complex blend of tropical mango and passionfruit from Mosaic, alongside Simcoe’s grapefruit and pine. Strata contributes a distinct ripe strawberry note, while Saaz lends a subtle herbal, spicy undertone. Low grainy, crackery malt aroma; fermentation is very clean with no esters or diacetyl.

Taste. Initial notes of doughy, sweet malt are immediately followed by a wave of lemony citrus and tropical fruit flavors. The mid-palate reveals strawberry and piney resin. Bitterness is firm and assertive, typical of the West Coast style, leading into a crisp, bone-dry finish. Lingering aftertaste of grapefruit zest and light herbal spice.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a brisk, high carbonation that enhances the refreshing character. Very clean mouthfeel with no astringency and only a light, integrated alcoholic presence.
