This massive Imperial Stout presents a masterful display of extended barrel maturation, having spent three years developing profound complexity. The double-mashed base delivers a foundation of intense dark chocolate and espresso, further enriched by the earthy, floral sweetness of Ugandan Vanilla Beans. The triple-year wood program layers sophisticated notes of spicy grain from Stauning Rye Whiskey barrels against the deep caramel and charred oak of Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels. At 14% ABV, the alcohol warmth is significant yet velvet-smooth, integrating seamlessly with dried fruit esters and a lingering, bittersweet finish that defines this opulent and deeply layered sensory experience.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thin, dark brown head that shows low retention due to high alcohol content. Pronounced viscosity is visible through heavy legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity; rich roasted grain, bittersweet chocolate, and cold-brew coffee. Significant barrel influence provides spicy rye whiskey notes, charred oak, and bourbon-soaked vanilla. Distinctive Ugandan Vanilla Beans add a floral, creamy sweetness, complemented by dark fruit esters of prune and black currant.

Taste. Initial impression is exceptionally rich with cocoa, molasses, and toasted malt. The mid-palate reveals complex barrel interplay: spicy Stauning Rye Whiskey character followed by the coconut and vanilla notes of Heaven Hill Bourbon. Ugandan Vanilla Beans provide a creamy, dessert-like layer. Bitterness is moderate but firm enough to balance the residual sweetness. Finish is long, warming, and bittersweet with lingering oak.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and viscous with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low. Smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, lacking any harshness.
