This modern Double IPA delivers a relentless, pure hop expression that pays homage to the evolving West Coast style. An intense, layered bouquet erupts with dank passion fruit from Strata CGX and the signature white grape and gooseberry notes of Nelson Sauvin. Mid-palate, the classic resinous pine of Simcoe and floral citrus of Centennial provide a firm structure, while Riwaka Sub-Zero Hop Kief amplifies the tropical punch. Despite its 8% potency, the malt remains a clean, unobtrusive backdrop of light grain, allowing a bracing bitterness and a bone-dry, resinous finish to define the experience. It is a powerful, aromatically saturated, and exceptionally drinkable interpretation.

Appearance. Golden to light amber (7-9 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a thick, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit, and damp earth from Strata. Distinctive crushed green grape and diesel notes from Nelson Sauvin are prominent, supported by sharp pine needles from Simcoe and lemon zest from Centennial. The malt is neutral, reminiscent of cracker or light bread, with a clean fermentation profile and a very subtle hint of sweet alcohol.

Taste. Powerful initial hop impact featuring layers of tropical fruit, resin, and citrus. The bitterness is high (approx. 75-85 IBU) but smooth and clean, never harsh. Malt flavors are low, providing a soft bready support without any caramel sweetness. Flavors of gooseberry and lime linger into a very dry, crisp finish. Complex and hop-forward with a slight, clean alcohol presence.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. Moderate to high carbonation enhances the perceived dryness. Alcohol provides a restrained, pleasant warmth without any solventy bite. No hop-derived astringency is present despite the heavy dry-hopping.
