Bad Bones

This Double IPA is a sensory powerhouse, driven by a massive dry-hopping rate of over nine pounds per barrel. The aromatic profile is dominated by the specific intersection of Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Galaxy hops. Citra provides zesty lime and grapefruit, while Nelson Sauvin adds crushed gooseberry and white wine notes, and Galaxy contributes intense passion fruit. On the palate, this tropical character is supported by a clean, neutral malt backbone. Despite its strength, the finish is remarkably dry and crisp, with a firm bitterness that cleanses the palate, prioritizing aromatic saturation and high drinkability.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7–9 SRM). Pours with a thick, persistent off-white head that leaves dense lacing. Expect a slight to moderate haze due to the extreme dry-hopping levels.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy citrus, passion fruit, and peach notes. Distinctive Nelson Sauvin contributions of white wine and gooseberry are prominent. Low, clean, neutral malt sweetness in the background with a faint, smooth alcohol presence.

Taste. High hop flavor intensity following the aroma, with layers of citrus peel, tropical fruit, and resin. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. Malt is supportive and grainy-sweet, finishing very dry. Aftertaste is long and hop-forward.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, without any harsh astringency from the heavy hop load.
