This Double IPA is an olfactory explosion of New Zealand terroir, showcasing the unique synergy between Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka hops. Intense notes of crushed gooseberry, passion fruit, and white wine grape skins dominate the profile, amplified by the concentrated punch of Riwaka Hop Kief. A lean, neutral malt base allows these vibrant tropical and citrus characters to shine without distraction. The palate is greeted by a firm bitterness that transitions into a bone-dry finish, where lingering notes of lime zest and pink grapefruit persist. Despite its 8.3% ABV, it remains remarkably drinkable, offering a clean, modern expression of high-gravity brewing.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Topped with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing. Exhibits a modern slight haze, though largely translucent.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Dominant scents of tropical passion fruit, diesel-like white wine grapes, and bright citrus zest from the Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka. Very low neutral grainy malt support. Clean fermentation profile with a hint of smooth ethanol.

Taste. Immediate impact of intense tropical fruit—guava and passion fruit—followed by a sharp citrus-rind bitterness. Nelson Sauvin provides a sophisticated vinous character. Malt is soft and unobtrusive, serving only as a platform for the hops. High bitterness is firm but lacks harshness. Finishes dry and clean with a long-lasting hop-resin aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture likely enhanced by hop oils. Moderate to high carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth that provides a pleasant glow without being solventy.
