This powerful Double IPA showcases a sophisticated New Zealand hop profile, led by the distinctive white wine and gooseberry notes of Nelson Sauvin. The addition of Riwaka and Motueka, amplified by Motueka Hop Kief, introduces layers of crushed lime, passionfruit, and pungent citrus zest. Despite its 9.3% ABV, the beer maintains a lean, neutral malt backbone that allows the intense tropical and vinous hop characters to dominate. It finishes remarkably dry with a firm, clean bitterness, offering a complex sensory experience that balances high-strength alcohol warmth with refreshing, fruit-forward aromatics and a crisp, lingering finish.

Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper (8-12 SRM) with a slight haze. Topped with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of white grape, passionfruit, and intense lime zest. A secondary layer of tropical stone fruit is supported by a very low, neutral grainy malt character. Fermentation is clean with a hint of smooth alcohol.

Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors. Nelson Sauvin provides white wine complexity, while Riwaka and Motueka contribute sharp lime and grapefruit. Bitterness is high but smooth, lacking harshness. The malt is soft and unobtrusive, leading to a dry, clean finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. A restrained and well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being solventy or hot.
